Aims and Objectives:

Improve understanding of available paediatric ophthalmology services and improve referrals.

Teaching Methods: This will be delivered in a series of illustrated talks with interactive sessions; questions and answers. Hand-outs will be available..

0845 - 0920 Registration and coffee.

0920 – 1000 What do Children’s Eye Doctors do? Mr Michael Clarke, Consultant Ophthalmologist, GNCH.

1000 - 1030 Coloured filters and lens treatment for dyslexia, autism ADHD, migraine and sport related head injury. Mr Phil Griffiths, GNCH.

1030 – 1050 Coffee break.

1050 – 1120 Paediatric Eye Emergencies. Mr Alan Connor, Consultant Ophthalmologist, GNCH.

1120 – 1200 Assessing Visual Impairment in children with significant other neuro-disability. Dr Yasmin De Alwis, Consultant Neurologist and Laura Crawford, Orthoptist, GNCH.

1200 – 1245 Lunch.

1245 - 1345 Uveitis the two team approach. Mr Eoghan Millar, Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist, Glasgow.

The study days are conducted on a monthly basis by the School of Paediatrics. This is an excellent provision for both established healthcare professionals, trainees and Associated Medical Professionals.
