GP3 programme information

GP3 programmes are General Paediatrics for General Paediatricians and General Practitioners.

Venue - James Spence Lecture Theatre, Great North Children‘s Hospital (GNCH).

Aims and Objectives: This course will provide consultant paediatricians, other senior paediatricians, paediatric trainees and general practitioners, with targeted information relating to recognising and managing the serious ill child, child safeguarding and the latest understanding, investigation and management of common childhood ailments.

Teaching Methods: Lectures, presentations, detailed hand-outs, question and answer sessions and optional case discussion.

1130 — 1200 What should primary care know of cleft lip and palate abnormality. Mr David Sainsbury, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Royal Victoria.

1245 — 1345 Child Safeguarding – The internet and child safety…. whose problem is it anyway? Dr Alex Hull, Consultant Psychologist

1345 — 1430 Cases I have learned from. Dr Sachin Mannikar, Consultant Paediatrician, Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The study days are conducted on a monthly basis by the School of Paediatrics. This is an excellent provision for both established healthcare professionals, trainees and Associated Medical Professionals.
