Childhood Obesity

Aims and Objectives: To explore the issues around the increasing prevalence of childhood obesity including approach from dietetics, psychology and surgery. The public health issue and safeguarding approach.

Teaching Methods: This will be delivered in a series of illustrated talks with interactive sessions; questions and answers. Hand-outs will be available.

1130 – 1200 Psychological Approaches in Childhood Obesity Dr Lisa Hodgson, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Bishop Auckland General Hospital

1330 – 1400 Childhood Obesity – causes and consequences Dr Helen Johnstone, Consultant Endocrinologist, GNCH.
